Young Love

This is for Tracy... awwww, to be in high school and in love again...

Wait, I'm already doing that... I am married to my high school sweetheart!  Lucky me! (next month we celebrate our 13 11 years wedding anniversary!)  (whoops!  It wasn't  until nateandkatesmom commented that I realized I had written 13... no, it's going to be 11 years this June, not 13.  I guess I was still a bit sleepy!)

My FIRST Blog Award!

1) I love pasta!  (any and all!)
2) All 3 of our children were born in August and are "almost exactly" 2 years apart!
3) My hubby and I have known each other longer than we have been married.
4) I didn't like the Twilight series as much as I thought I would... I LOVED the first book though!
5) I love "plain" vanilla ice cream - I'm boring like that!
6) I am a Gleek! (and my children may be too! ;))
7) I don't think I will be going back to teaching any time soon.... (sigh, too much stuff going on in education that it's so discouraging!)

For Dr. Mach

My dear, dear friend, Susan found me when I was a junior at UCLA and gave me a job!  She was a Writing/English professor and needed help with research for her class readers.  So, I became her research assistant.  Little did I know that I would come to love this woman like my own mom.  She has always been there for me and I always find myself smiling when I think of her.  She is such a strong person... long and personal story, so we won't go into it here.  I am grateful she is in my life -- she attended my wedding (even joined in the traditional tea ceremony) and she and her husband read the very same poem that was read at their wedding!  She and I put our heads together and we came up with this:  (insert UCLA fight song here... because that's what you do when you see UCLA!!!)

Susan, I love you and I hope you know that!

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is teacher appreciation week.  Our homeroom mom organized a wonderful week for MG's teacher.  Monday - a plate of cookies.  Tuesday - a bouquet of flowers brought by each student in the class and then assembled  together (by yours truly!) .  Wednesday - a poster made up of letters the students responded to this: "I appreciate my teacher because..."  Thursday - it was also her bday! a class bday gift.  Friday - a basket of fruit (made up of fruits the students bring in).
MG and I thought and thought... and we came up with a pendant for her birthday:

 Second idea -- we liked the extra crystal on this one.

So this was the "Who I Am" pendant with a crystal added.  And FYI -- she is not yet a "wife" she will be soon though, so that is why we added that... she is planning/preparing for a June/July wedding!  (more details later)

Mommy 2 Be

One of our former clients, Donna and Andrew, are expecting their first baby... I felt the need to celebrate with them.  So I made Donna a pendant...

It makes me giddy to see this... I bet Donna is so excited!  I wonder if Andrew is nervous.  Do you  remember the first time you found out you were pregnant?  I was shocked... and so excited!  After a few months, I was nervous and scared.  Now, I can probably have 10 children and not bat an eye... Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration (okay, a lot)!  I really do love having a large family.  My 3 never tire of playing with one another.  They don't always get along, but at the end of the day, I can tell they love each other... A sure sign?  They have their own beds, but they choose to cuddle in the same bed 90% of the time!  Now, that is one crowded bed!
