Friends are Everything

These incredible ladies (minus one who couldn't make it) are my dear friends from Kindergarten.  No, not MY Kindergarten class... my daughter's!  We had quite a year and it was that challenging year that pulled us together.  I am very grateful for their friendship and don't know what I would have done without them.  Lisa, Astrid, Kelly, and Melinda... Thank you for being there for me!  (And even my youngest developed a friendship with Kelly's youngest during this year!  They crawled around together that first year... and now they are running after each other!!!  LOL)
We got together recently to celebrate birthdays that flew by during the summer.  I made these for them.

The Circle of Love pendants:
 The Circle of Love Washers:

I love the new Swarovski Birthstones that I just purchased... birthstones for everyone!!!!  :)  (I made a mistake and gave Lisa the wrong birthstone.  That was fixed but I forgot to grab a photo before handing it back to her the next day.)

A newer version of The Nanny

She must feel so blessed to have 6 beautiful grandchildren.

And for $10 more, a 16" sterling silver cable chain was included in this gift for a special grandmother:
Aren't these beautiful names?!

Girls Rock

For a sweet girl in my daughter's 2nd grade class, whose birthday we missed while we were camping this summer.  We thought for awhile what to stamp... her name?  BFF?  friends forever?  We eventually  came up with this.  It is photographed with a souvenir from the river my youngest played in.  He carried this in his pocket (for who knows how long!) and he finally took it out when we came home.  It was sitting here by the computer when I went to photograph this pendant/charm, so I grabbed it!  My oldest is going to put together some beads and make her friend a bracelet.  We are going to dangle this on it.  A very sweet idea (she may need to go into business with me sooner rather than later) from one girl to another!

BFF

One of her BFFs moved away this summer.  She requested a gift that would allow the two of them to "connect" even after the move.  We came up with this - her BFF will wear this one:

Simple but just small enough for an almost 8 year old to wear and cherish:

BFFs are the best.  I have a few and I know that they are the ones I can call whenever I need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen to my woes.

No matter the situation BFFs, they just don't judge you.  They don't care that you go swimming with them without shaving your legs because you didn't have time.  They don't care that you actually finished that whole BIG plate of pasta that you ordered and everyone made a comment that it's REALLY big!  They don't care that you said to meet at 10AM but you actually arrive at 10:30AM.  They don't care that you read a few of their novels and bunny eared the pages because the bookmark was *just* too far away to reach.

I hope her BFF in the future will allow her to be who she is -- just like  mine allow me to be who I am.

A special order

My dear fiend, Kate's daughter, Madison, special ordered this for her and her friend...
Why is this a special order?  Because Kate and I have been friends since 1996.  I just graduated from college and was just hired to teach for the first time.  I did not know the curriculum so she helped me.  She also helped me through a great deal of pain when my father passed away suddenly in 1997, only 6 months after I was hired to teach.  We had just met but she helped me through so much and without knowing me for too long she invited me back home to VA to meet her family... where she announced that she was pregnant...  I was so honoured to be there when she did so!  Of course, I cried... Her baby was born December of 1997.
Fast forward....
A few weeks ago I received an email from her daughter!  The baby I held when she was a few weeks old.  She now has her own email and is considered a "teen!"  And she placed an order for her friend... She is leaving for camp soon where she will present this to her.  How sweet is that?
I miss you Kate...I hope to visit VA soon!

This is a photo of her when she and her family stopped by for a brief visit in 2008 -- when my youngest was about 6 months old!
Kate sent me this picture of the two of them right before leaving for camp -- such beautiful girls!  :)

For Gabby

Remember Gabby?  Remember Kelly?

We put our ideas together and created these two pendants.
This one is for sweet Gabby:

And this one is for her mom:

Please continue to keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

One lucky Auntie!

When my nephews are older and we actually live closer to them and they actually knew me better... I would wish they have these kind words to describe me...  My friend, Debby, from college ordered this for her sister in law.  Her daughter had these kind words to describe her Auntie.  So sweet, huh?  She even chose/requested the turquoise gem to go on the jump ring!

These are the cousins (minus Ryan who wanted nothing to do with Santa!) in 2009... It has been too long since we have been together.

Here's to love!

Edna lost her husband recently.  Her dear niece, Audrey, ordered this pendant for her:

I think it's so sweet, don't you?!

Then Audrey's neighbor, Stephanie, the very same week ordered this for her sister, who is getting married soon!  (that is our wedding anniversary!!!!)

I think this is equally sweet.
Here's to love... at both ends of the spectrum.

Young Love

This is for Tracy... awwww, to be in high school and in love again...
Wait, I'm already doing that... I am married to my high school sweetheart!  Lucky me! (next month we celebrate our 13 11 years wedding anniversary!)  (whoops!  It wasn't  until nateandkatesmom commented that I realized I had written 13... no, it's going to be 11 years this June, not 13.  I guess I was still a bit sleepy!)

For Dr. Mach

My dear, dear friend, Susan found me when I was a junior at UCLA and gave me a job!  She was a Writing/English professor and needed help with research for her class readers.  So, I became her research assistant.  Little did I know that I would come to love this woman like my own mom.  She has always been there for me and I always find myself smiling when I think of her.  She is such a strong person... long and personal story, so we won't go into it here.  I am grateful she is in my life -- she attended my wedding (even joined in the traditional tea ceremony) and she and her husband read the very same poem that was read at their wedding!  She and I put our heads together and we came up with this:  (insert UCLA fight song here... because that's what you do when you see UCLA!!!)

Susan, I love you and I hope you know that!

1 more variation to the Malia Pendant

I made this pendant for two really sweet moms I met at the Timpany Swim Center.  They make me laugh and it truly helps... at the end of a LONG day, laughter helps make the rest of the evening more bearable!  (You know what I mean, right?  Sometimes, even a cup of coffee just doesn't cut it!)
