Kale Chips

Thanks to my friend, Amanda, the children are now fighting over this bowl of... kale chips!  I know!  They don't even know what kale is!  They just know that it's a tasty vegetable!  Ha!  Lucky me and THANK YOU Amanda!!!
They are literally pushing each other out of the way!
Back off guys so I can take a picture!!!!
Another batch in the oven waiting....
Simple recipe -- 2 bags of kale already cut from Trader Joe's -- Rinse, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and olive oil (well, drizzle the oil!)... mix and then roast in oven.  Watch carefully because a burnt chip... eh, not so tasty!  So 375 degrees... 20  minutes or so... or longer... keep an eye on them! Enjoy!

An English Breakfast

Melinda made English Pancakes for lunch yesterday... and I loved it so much we had that for breakfast!

The recipe can be found here - I just doubled it to make about 7 LARGE pancakes/crepes.

I sauteed onions and portobello mushrooms:

Added Swiss cheese and thinly sliced Black Forest ham:

 They approved!

Promises have been made for sweet English pancakes in the near future.... you know, Nutella, strawberries, and whipped cream??? YUM!  Happy Sunday!

Psst... if you are interested in a giveaway (my work is included in the package)... head on over to Ava Grace's Closet to help Susan celebrate her one year blogiversary!

A spring treat

I'm heading to meet some friends for a quick lunch today.  So i made these to share.

I followed the recipe from here but added vanilla extract and red food coloring instead ....and a surprise  filling!

 Here is the surprise/mystery filling!!!!
Roll them in there tight!
The marshmallows sort of melted in the oven so the boys couldn't even guess what it was but knew it was something "white."
The boys approved..  They each just had one right out of the oven and they asked for more... no, no more!
Not now, that is!  ;)

Happy Spring!!!!

He helped to make the vase for his teacher and then we picked flowers from my mom's house:

She made these lovely flowers for her teacher.
(tutorial here - so simple and yet, so beautiful!  I'll be making more of these as gifts for Easter!)

I love Spring... my allergies may not, but I sure do love Spring!  Welcome Spring... we've been waiting for you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The leprechaun brought a lot of treats!
These cookies were on the stove top waiting as part of their treasure hunt -- what a treat!  (recipe here -- so easy and quick, really!)
And he left a jar of green pancake batter and a bowl of green eggs already scrambled and ready to be cooked this morning!  Imagine how busy that little man was!
They were very pleased!  (she's holding a green chocolate covered pretzel that was also part of the treasure hunt the little man made them go through this morning)
Hope your day is green and fantastic!

A Halloween/St. Patty's Day Shirt!

So... we had this shirt that we made for Halloween last year:

And we bought a piece of white felt from Michael's, cut out a freezer paper stencil of a four leaf clover/shamrock ( I Googled the picture/clipart), then ironed the freezer paper to the white felt:
She painted it with black fabric paint (the felt took a lot of paint!):
We waited for it to dry - not long at all:

I cut it out and sewed it onto the Halloween Shirt!  Which is now a St. Patrick's Day shirt!  It is ready for Friday's parade - weather permitting, that is!
Have a great week, everyone!!!!

A Seashell -- an added "charm" to this classic pendant

Karen, a new client, requested a seashell for her daughter... I did not have anything on hand.  So I special ordered this for her.  I think it turned out really nice!  Thank you Karen, for helping me think out side the box!
