Busy....

with summer vacation!

So... if we are not around a lot these days... It's because it's summer vacation and we are BUSY enjoying every bit of it!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Seriously, this IS what he wanted to do on his day!  (BBQ on the beach and a few trips on the kayak with friends and the children) Although the weather wasn't the best... we still had a blast as a family - joined by some good friends as well.  We are very lucky!

Dear Pinterest...

I think eventually, I will have to cut you off my list of things to do before bed because I am sooo hooked!!!  This is another reason why!

Eldest child and I had tickets to watch her friends dance and we wanted to make them a bouquet of flowers... Enter Pinterest and this wonderful blog that walked us through!

Then she began assembling the petals together:

And she even used the hot glue gun on her own this time! 

 And it was beginning to look alive!

And this was the finished bouquet!  Isn't it beautiful?!

We had such a fun time putting these together (in no time really!).  I look forward to making more of these!  FUN!!!! (They were well received after the performance!)

Birthday Party Favor Gifts

These were ordered for a special girl who is moving away.  She wanted a small party with her closest friends in attendance.  She wanted to give a gift that would allow her friends to remember her... I think  these will do the trick!  I'm hopeful that her friends will cherish these for many years to come.  "T," I hope you will love making new friends... and remember to keep the old.  :)

3/4" sterling silver circle discs at $15 each, simple initial stamp with background daisy/flower stamps added (so not one will be the same!), pink stones at $3 each, and stainless steel ball chain necklaces at $5 each.  $23 each -- a gift that will last for many years to come!

It rained?!

It was a strange thing yesterday.... we walked eldest to school and it was nice and clear.  By the time middle went to school. (3 hours later) .. well, it rained!  I mean, it rained!!!!  It was the strangest thing, ever!  The boys were so excited to use their umbrellas in JUNE!
So here's a cute photo of youngest one and his buddy sharing an umbrella.  His buddy scootered but left it somewhere between his home and school!  (little legs get tired sometimes!) So we walked with them back toward home... and youngest one ended up staying at his buddy's house while I went home to get some work done.  It's so nice to have friends!  :)  (thank you Ali!)
